Morris Animal Refuge Celebrates 150 YearsPhiladelphia, PA - Morris Animal Refuge is excitedly preparing to celebrate its 150th anniversary by hosting the much-anticipated 27th Fur Ball on March 8. This year's event is poised to be the Refuge's most grandiose affair yet, dedicated to raising vital funds for sustaining its life-saving programs for homeless pets across the Greater Philadelphia region.

The Pioneer In Animal Welfare Hosts Its Largest Gala To-date

 

 

With pillars like the impactful Lifesaver Fund, the nurturing Fostering Program, and the highly successful Adoption Program, Morris Animal Refuge remains steadfast in its dedication to finding forever homes for animals in need.

For those who are unable to attend the gala, there are numerous engaging ways to show support and make a difference:

The Morris Animal Refuge, founded in 1874, is a pioneering organization devoted to the welfare of cats, dogs, and other small animals. Growing from its modest origins to a leading force of compassion, the Refuge boasts an impressive 98% save rate, facilitating over 1,000 adoptions yearly. Noteworthy programs, such as the Community Cat Program and the Philly Pets Program, showcase innovative initiatives that tackle animal welfare issues head-on.

The Community Cat Program, for example, has made a significant impact by spaying/neutering and returning over 500 community cats. Meanwhile, the Philly Pets Program brings essential services and education to underserved pet owners, ensuring more animals receive care and support. Located at 1242 Lombard Street, the Refuge offers comprehensive services for abused and neglected animals in the Philadelphia region, reflecting their commitment to progressive and humane animal care.
