Investigators now believe the unidentified girl was Caucasian or Hispanic with slightly wavy brown hair, and somewhere around 2 and 5 of age.
A Smyrna police department spokesman said "persons of interest" outside the state were arrested, The Delaware News Journal reported.
Cpl. Brian Donner said detectives and the FBI are actively executing search warrants and interviews in the case and that suspects were to be transferred to Smyrna police.
The young girl's body was discovered back in 2019 by an individual walking their dog around the Little Lass Fields on Sept. 13, 2019, located across from Smyrna Middle School.
