Fire Breaks Out Across from The Museum of the American Revolution

PhillyBite10Philadelphia, PA - Febuary 18, 2018  over 140 firefighters are fighting a fire across the street from the Museum of the American Revolution and next to the popular Old City restaurant The Little Lion. The fire broke out in a building that housed apartments and retail stores.


"The 4th Alarm was just struck on the fire located at the 200 block of Chestnut Street. Approximately 57 fire apparatus & 140 firefighters are battling a difficult the fire." - Philadelphia Fire Departments Twitter Statement.

The Little Lion aslo released a statement on Twitter "Due to nearby fire, we are closed for today. Stay tuned as we wait for firefighters to finish and let us in bldg. We will update soon after accesss damage. Thoughts to those being displaced + to neighbor businesses."



Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Adam Thiel, stated that the fire started around 3 a.m. on the sixth floor of 239 Chestnut St.. The fire is reported to be under control and the fire department reported to NBC10 that the museum will be closed Sunday.
