Below are a few of our staff's favorite Philly Things-To-Do in the fall.

Old City Philadelphia

If you're looking for a date idea that combines history with romance, you can't go wrong with a trip to Philadelphia. The city offers various activities and places to go on a fall date. For example, you can go on a horse and carriage tour with your loved one to learn more about the city's history. You can also take in the colorful mood lighting and enjoy the many different food options.

Philadelphia Film Festival

If you and your partner are movie buffs, you can catch a screening of the latest hit movie at the Philadelphia Film Festival. You'll enjoy in-person performances and food trucks, and the film festival is back in town this October.

Fairmount Park

Fall is the perfect time to hike, and Fairmount Park has plenty of trails to explore. The park is also home to a variety of events. For example, you can take a morning hike to see the sunrise over Philadelphia. Hiking enthusiasts can download a digital guide to help them plan their visit. During the autumn, the park will also host the Asian Pacific American Film Festival, which showcases the stories of Asian Pacific Americans. Fairmount Park is one of Philadelphia's best assets. Whether you're interested in hiking, horseback riding, or admiring the stunning scenery, the park offers plenty to do. For a more unique date idea, try a tour of the Japanese Tea House or a tour of some of the mansions in the park.

Barnes Foundation

You've probably heard of the Barnes Foundation. It's a self-taught connoisseur and American art museum that has long been a source of controversy. The Foundation's alleged failure to promote the arts and its trustees' collusion with public-relations apparatchiks have raised troubling questions about our democratic society and the future of private philanthropy. But how should you feel about it? One of the most famous art museums in the world is the Barnes Foundation, which houses a diverse collection. The museum's new addition is the Museum of Illusions, which boasts 80 exhibits of optical illusions, holograms, and stereograms.

One Liberty Observation Deck

Fall is a wonderful time to visit Philadelphia's One Liberty Observation Deck. Located on the 57th floor of One Liberty Place, the deck offers stunning views of the city. The deck's 360-degree view spans the city for miles. From the 57th floor, you can see almost every square mile of the city.

Take a Crusie on The Waterfront

You can enjoy a romantic night out on the water. This cruise can last up to three hours and features a contemporary buffet and live music. It's the perfect place for a date or a night out with friends and family. You'll be able to see the city from the water while enjoying a delicious dinner and a few drinks. The cruise can skirt between top attractions, so it's an easy way to enjoy the city's sights and sounds.

Sahara Sam's Water Park

Sahara Sam's Water Park is the first free-standing indoor water park in New Jersey. With over 58,000 square feet of water fun, it's perfect for the whole family. The park features tube slides, obstacle courses, water basketball, and a toddler area. The park is also home to a 3,000-square-foot arcade and a full-service restaurant. Sahara Sam's offers both indoor and outdoor water parks. The indoor water park is 84 degrees, and the retractable roof allows for fresh air and sunshine during the warmer days.

Vesper Day Club

The Vesper Day Club in Northern Liberties is getting a makeover as a new restaurant and bar. Opening this Friday, it's named Germantown Garden Grill and will seat 120 guests. It will serve dinner and weekend brunch. It'll also offer a heated pool and show Eagles games during the warmer months. The restaurant will also feature a new bar program with nine specialty craft cocktails, wine, and beer. While the main deck will offer seats for everyone, the individual bungalows will be a more intimate space for dinner. You'll have access to each one, and if you prefer, you can order a private table for up to 15 guests. The prices range from $12-18 per drink, and you can upgrade to a bottle of wine or two. Guests can also order surf and turf, lobster tails, crab cakes, and chicken tenders.

Temple University Game

One of Philadelphia's most romantic fall date ideas is watching a Temple University football game. The Owls have been playing football since 1894 when Glenn "Pop" Warner was the coach. They were members of the Big East Conference until 1991, when poor attendance forced them out. The team played the 2005 and 2006 seasons as an independent and then from 2007 to 2011 in the Mid-American Conference. In 2012, they joined the Big East Conference again.

Whether you're a college football fan or just want to get outside the city, you'll find plenty of fall date ideas in the Philadelphia region. The city's fall calendar includes events and exhibits, in-person performances, pop-up markets, and Halloween events. This season isn't one to be missed!
