The museum is a franchise of Metamorfoza, a company based in Croatia that opened the first Museum of Illusions in Zagreb in 2015. The Philadelphia branch is one of more than 35 locations worldwide, with more planned for other cities. This museum is run by Philadelphia native Rob Cooper, who grew up in Downingtown and currently lives in West Chester. He helped bring the concept to the U.S. by partnering with a local artist.

The Museum of Illusions Philadelphia has more than 60 exhibits, including a vortex tunnel that will test your perception of physics and a gravity-defying anti-gravity room. There are also kaleidoscopes and smart playrooms for kids to enjoy. The museum offers off-peak tickets for as little as $24 for adults and $18 for children five-12. However, if you plan on spending a lot of time in the museum, it might be better to visit during the off-peak hours.
