DiNic’s in Reading Terminal Market

Tommy DiNic's started his roast beef and pork sandwiches at 10th and Oregon in South Philly. Today, the shop has been in Reading Terminal Market since the early 1980s. It has won awards for its roast beef and roast pork sandwiches, and it has even been deemed the best in the city.

In addition to making some of the best roast beef sandwiches in Philadelphia, DiNic's also serves tasty meatballs. The sandwich shop has a long history, starting in a small 3 story building where Tommy DiNic's father worked in the kitchen behind the building. He was able to sell meat from this kitchen and he decided to branch out into other food outlets.

The family opened a butcher shop in the market and began making specialty roasts in his garage. The company's sandwich business began in the 1970s. Tommy Nicolosi's grandson, Joey, manages the business and has expanded the menu with a variety of local dishes. The market is a hub for food lovers and Philadelphia has a huge number of eateries and food producers.

DiNics Outpost at The Navy Yard

The Philadelphia Navy Yard is an old naval base located in the far southern part of the city. Many businesses have set up shop here thanks to tax credits, which also makes it easier for people from neighboring states like New Jersey and Delaware to get to these jobs. The site is home to many decommissioned military vessels and historic buildings, including the former homes of captains. The area also houses a few fine dining options, including a branch of DiNic's.
