SEPTA - Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation AuthorityPhillyBite Sepa Key Card, announced that token sales are going to terminate at all Authority-owned locations on Monday, April 30. Token purchases have started to be phased out since January, as most riders changeover to the SEPTA Key Card.

SEPTA will continue to recognize tokens for the foreseen future, so users will not lose funds they have currently spent on tokens. Customers are advised that tokens can be placed onto Key cards, with the value added in to the Travel Wallet which allows for convenient tap-and-go travel.

Tokens will continue to be sold in bulk to social service agencies beyond April 30, as work continues to implement a new method for these organizations to provide SEPTA fares to their clients. In addition, SEPTA CCT Paratransit customers will be able to purchase tokens after April 30 at Center City sales locations with a valid SEPTA CCT identification card. Some third-party retailers will also continue to sell tokens to the general public beyond April 30, although these locations will eventually be replaced by the SEPTA Key External Retail Network, which currently includes more than 200 locations.
