This upcoming opening marks the third location for the wildly popular brand, which currently operates highly successful shops in West Philadelphia and the Bella Vista neighborhood of South Philadelphia. Beyond just a business expansion, this new suburban outpost is a meaningful homecoming for the Frankel brothers.
"This is near and dear to our hearts," the brand shared in an earlier social media post regarding the new shop. "It's a homecoming for us! We grew up here, and we know this place like the back of our hand."
What to Expect at the New Space
The new shop at 273 Montgomery Ave. will be the only Bart's Bagels location with indoor seating, including tables and a breakfast bar, creating a warm, inviting space for customers.
Customers can expect the same meticulous, traditional bagel-making process that put the Frankels on the map. The brothers draw inspiration from their childhood trips to New York City's Upper West Side, preparing their bagels by kettle-boiling them, utilizing a slow cold-fermentation process, and baking them on burlap boards in a revolving oven. This technique yields a perfectly chewy interior with a crisp, seeded crust.
The menu will remain consistent with their city locations, offering an extensive array of classic bagels, in-house-made schmears and smoked fish, along with hearty egg and lunch sandwiches.

If you need further convincing to stop by, Bart's Bagels boasts one of the most famous customer endorsements in the region. Former Eagles center Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie, have been vocal fans of the bagel shop, frequently hyping it on their hit podcasts. The Kelce family reportedly orders weekly from the West Philly location, and Kylie has even shared that a Bart's bagel was her very first meal after giving birth to their youngest daughter.
