2. Island Beach State Park

Island Beach State Park lies 10 miles south of Seaside Heights (famous for Snooki), one of the few remaining barrier beach islands along New Jersey's coastline. Spanning over 3,000 acres, its shorelines include sandy beaches, saltwater bays, freshwater wetlands, and maritime forests that serve as home for over 400 plant and animal species.

Belmar Beach is an excellent fishing beach, mainly during winter when dedicated anglers target Cod and Tautog at shallower points such as "The Tennis Courts." Venture further offshore for some Fluke or Striped Bass action!
