Philadelphia, PARosemary Opening in Ridley Park - In mid-June of 2023, two veterans of Philly's food scene -- Owner Philip Breen and Executive Chef Elijah Milligan -- will open Rosemary, a new, airy restaurant with 118 seats located at 25 E. Hinckley Avenue, in Ridley Park, in the heart Delaware County.

RoseMary's Featuring Locally-Sourced, Modern American Cuisine

Breen has opened and managed many of the most popular restaurants in the city, including Frankford, The Dandelion, and Dock Street Brewery.  He purchased the 2,500-square-foot property, The Burgundy Lounge, an old neighborhood bar/pool hall for almost five decades. It is now the newest addition to the Delco restaurant scene. Breen said, "Rosemary, a family restaurant, is inspired by Rosemarie, an amazing Italian home cook and matriarch of our large, close family."

Breen, who has a background in construction, hospitality, and real estate, spearheaded the renovation of the property, which cost two million dollars. The property now features four distinct areas: a 16-seat front patio alfresco, a 66-seat dining room, a 12-seat bar, and a 24-seat Greenhouse. This all-weather indoor/outdoor area is filled with beautiful plants, flowers, and greenery decorated by Breen’s mother.

The restaurant will offer a modern American cuisine with a global influence, sourced locally. Executive Chef Elijah Milligan said, "Our dishes are familiar and approachable but with a contemporary twist." "We never want to be pigeon-holed, so the menu constantly evolves," said Milligan. He has worked on both coasts, at revered standouts Le Bec-Fin in Philadelphia and Vernick, as well Angele in Napa Valle.

The menu will feature Smoked Lamb Belly and Grilled Oysters. There are also steaks, seafood selections, and a raw bar that offers Fresh Oysters and Shrimp Cocktails. The price of small plates will be between $12 and $20, while the larger plates with handmade pastas range from $20 to 36 dollars. Breen describes the bar as "an exciting, cutting-edge experience" that offers a wide selection of craft cocktails, beer, and wine.

Breen said, "We are fully committed to creating a business where families can enjoy good food, hospitality, and each other's presence." "Just like my family discovered our Delco roots by returning home to Ridley Park during the pandemic, buying a house, and opening a family restaurant, I hope that our neighbors will enjoy this exciting new gem that's in their backyard and that they can share with their friends and family

Rosemary is open for dinner seven days a week, with brunch on the weekends and holidays Mondays.
