The Fern & Fable, repurposed in 2011 and rebranded in 2022, was initially established to offer a wonderful dining experience for theatergoers. It has expanded since then and is now a distinguished restaurant. In the cooler weather, the rustic wood-burning and gas fireplaces create a warm and cozy atmosphere for up to 45 diners. The romantic herb and spring garden backdrop will surround your dining al fresco. The award-winning English Gardens of People's Light surround an open-air canopy that provides shade for up to fifty guests who dine outdoors in the warmer months. Veranda heating is also available for the fall.

The Garden Room can accommodate up to 16 people for small gatherings. The property also features a handcrafted bar from 100-year-old reclaimed cherrywood and unique glasswork. Other decorative elements include eclectic lighting, lanterns, and glass and metal sconces created by Hank Adams. The restaurant's halls and parlors are decorated with custom-made artwork, including costume renderings and textiles taken from the storied People's Light performances. The atmosphere and spirit of the restaurant are only seconded by the masterful work of Fern & Fable’s Head Chef, who will join the restaurant in September 2022.

Abigail Morris, a restaurant chef with more than ten years of experience in cooking, uses locally sourced and fresh ingredients to tell the story of her American cuisine. Her spring 2023 menu features farm-to-table favorites with a homegrown modern twist. Verde Valley Urban Micro-Greens LLC provides organically grown micro-greens and herbs from The Fern & Fable’s onsite garden. Chef Abigail’s duck breast entree is made with locally raised duck, supplied by Joe Jurgielewicz & Son, Ltd., and paired perfectly with "Thyme For Grapefruit And Gin," a signature cocktail crafted from Brandywine Branch Distillery of Elverson. The chef does All pickling in-house for her Green Goddess Burrata sandwiches, BBQ Flatbread, and other dishes.

Specialty bread is baked fresh to accompany certain menu items, including gluten-free and vegetarian options.

Chef Abigail creates a unique dish for each course, using ingredients that tell a tale to the experienced epicure. She also makes the desserts herself. Chef's creations are an exciting seduction for the senses and the perfect accompaniment to People's Light's season of exciting shows and programs.

The unique cocktail menu offers a variety of flavorful brews that are as impressive as a People's Light display. The "Sage Fig Cocktail," a smooth blend of rum with fresh figs and lemon, is a fusion of flavored brews as impressive as a People's Light presentation. Meanwhile, the "Salted Caramel Espresso Martini," dubbed a "spiritual" experience, offers seasoned rich notes from espresso, shaved candy, sea salt, and shaved dark chocolate. The "Summertime Lemonade" is a refreshing fusion of honeysuckle, jasmine, and rose in the tranquil outdoor gardens at the Fern & Fable.

The spirits list includes six imported beers, three domestic beer options, and Coravin's preserved specialty white and red wines. Chef Abigail's harmonious cocktails are the key to a perfect happy hour. The featured beer, a crisp HopDevil by Victory Brewing Company, perfectly accompanies Chef Abigail’s happy hour menu. Happy hour on Wednesdays between 4 and 6 p.m. includes various items, including fried Shishito peppers, Burrata Toast, and French Onion Grilled Cheese Baguette. House wine is $5, and domestic beer is $4.

The Fern & Fable hosts live music on Thursdays from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. throughout the year. You can find a complete list of the artists and dates here. Red Phone Entertainment presents an evening of fun and live performances at Fern & Fable. Reservations are recommended.
