- Marigold Kitchen, the famed West Philadelphia BYOB eatery, will close its doors on January 31. Due to financial issues coming from the failure of its business partners TALK, the former Rittenhouse eatery which opened at 2121 Walnut St. and closed its doors within five month.
Marigold Kitchen opened its doors back in 2014, inside of a Victorian townhouse in West Philly. A cozy BYOB which offered up great food in the University District.
Chef-Owners Timothy Lanza and Andrew Kochan were known for their unique whimsy of exploratory menu items, offering a seasonal and ever-evolving tasting menu of 10 unforgettable courses. Marigold Kitchen had been named #15 in Philadelphia Magazine’s 50 Best Restaurants in Philadelphia and was given 3 Bells by Philadelphia Inquirer Restaurant Critic, Craig LaBan.
