Philadelphia, PA - Brewerytown is about to get a whole lot sweeter! New June, the acclaimed micro-bakery and cake studio, is opening its first storefront on Saturday, December 7th. Founded by Noelle Blizzard as a pandemic passion project, New June has quickly garnered a devoted following for its stunning vintage-inspired cakes and delectable baked goods.
From "Baking Therapy" to Brewerytown Bakery
What began as a form of "baking therapy" during the pandemic has blossomed into a full-fledged bakery, earning accolades from Good Morning America, The New York Times' T Magazine, Architectural Digest, and Food & Wine. Blizzard's design-forward sheet cakes, with their vintage-inspired and Lambeth-style decorations, have graced Instagram feeds and Pinterest boards nationwide, capturing attention for their beauty and unique flavor profiles.
A Feast for the Senses
New June's cakes are more than just pretty faces; they prioritize flavor as much as aesthetics. Using high-quality ingredients and seasonal flavors, Blizzard creates nostalgic and innovative cakes. From cardamom pistachio cream to lemony raspberry jam and brown butter fennel with blueberry and lime, the flavors are as diverse and captivating as the designs.
The new storefront will offer New June's signature sheet cakes and an expanded menu featuring cookies, brownies, cheesecakes, and other delectable treats.
Holiday Cheer: Christmas Cookie Tins
Just in time for the holidays, New June is also launching Christmas Cookie Tins, available in two tiers: standard and premium. These festive tins are packed with an assortment of mouthwatering cookies, including star anise and orange saffron sugar cookies, salted butter chocolate chunk shortbread, pistachio and rose amoretti, and many more. Orders can be placed on New June's website starting December 6th, with pick-up dates scheduled throughout the week leading up to Christmas.
A Design-Forward Space
Located at 2623 W. Girard Avenue, the new bakery is a testament to Blizzard's design sensibilities. With a charming, old-school vibe and a palette of pinks, blues, and yellows, the space is whimsical and inviting as the treats it offers. Blizzard herself led the design, creating a warm and joyous atmosphere that reflects the care and artistry poured into every New June creation.
A Sweet Homecoming
For Blizzard, opening a storefront in Brewerytown is a homecoming. "It all began baking for my friends and neighbors," she shares, emphasizing the importance of community and the joy of sharing delicious baked goods. With New June's new location, that sense of community will flourish, offering Brewerytown residents and visitors a taste of something extraordinary.
New June's bakery will be open for walk-ins on Fridays from 9 am to 3 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm. Their cakes are also available for local delivery and pickup via their website. Whether you're seeking a stunning centerpiece for a special occasion, a sweet treat to brighten your day, or simply a taste of Noelle Blizzard's culinary artistry, New June is a must-visit destination in Philadelphia's vibrant food scene.
