HERSHEY, PA – Tröegs Independent Brewing is excited to announce the return of its limited-edition holiday beer, Mad Elf Grand Cru. This special “director’s cut” of the iconic holiday ale features a large addition of local Pennsylvania wildflower honey and is fermented with a spicy Belgian yeast strain that lends flavors of cinnamon, clove, and allspice. The beer also exclusively showcases Balaton cherries to impart notes of tart pie filling.
Mad Elf Grand Cru clocks in at 11% ABV and pours a deep burgundy color. In order to preserve its flavor and complexity over time, it is packaged in cork and cage bottles.
“Putting this beer in cork and cage bottles helps give it that extra special touch," says Tröegs co-founding brother Chris Trogner. “The corks are great at keeping pressure in and oxygen out. Since Grand Cru is a beer many people like to age, that’s a big plus.”
Mad Elf Grand Cru is available in limited 375-mL bottles and on draft wherever Tröegs beer is sold. Don’t miss out on this unique holiday treat!
