Philadelphia, PA - On Wednesday, March 8 pioneering craft brewery Saint Benjamin Brewing Co. will host two separate events to pay homage to all the hard-working women brewers in the industry. From 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Saint Ben’s will celebrate International Women’s Day by inviting Pink Boots Society chapters, members, breweries and supporters into the brewery to collaborate on a batch of Pink Boots Historic Ale.

The event is open to all local females working in the beer industry; and, in early April, Pink Boots Historic Ale will be kegged and served in Saint Ben’s Taproom and in selected craft beer bars around Philadelphia. A portion of the proceeds from all Pink Boots Historic Ale sold will go to the Pink Boots Society, a non-profit organization that helps women further their beer careers through scholarships and educational programming.

Later in the day, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., Meredith Megan Williams – assistant brewer at Saint Benjamin and co-owner of Home Brewed Events – will host Little Boots Brew Day, a fun gathering of female beer lovers to learn about the history of beer and collaborate on their own homebrew version of Pink Books Historic Ale. The educational workshop will lead attendees through the history of beer, while raising money for the Pink Boots Society’s Greater Philadelphia Regional Chapter. In early April, this version of Pink Boots Historic Ale will be bottled and attendees of Little Boots Brew Day will receive a complimentary bottle.

Tickets for Little Boots Brew Day are $20 per person, and include:

Access to the taproom and brewery
An ongoing lesson on beer and brewing history, led by Williams
A chance to participate in the brewing of Pink Boots Historic Ale, a collaboration beer made on site
A beer tasting, featuring a wide variety of Saint Ben’s popular craft ales and lagers
A bottle of the day’s brew recipe, Pink Boots Historic Ale

Tickets are available online, and are expected to sell out, so guests are encouraged to purchase early. Additional information is also available at the ticket link. Pink Boots Society is a non-profit organization that helps women further their beer careers through scholarships and educational programming; and International Women’s Day is a day reserved to honor women and their economic, political and social achievements.
