Nifty Fifty's in Fishtown at 2431 Aramingo AvePhiladelphia, PA - The Three Musketeers (Autumn Lockwood, Kevin Waddy, and Michelle Leonard) got together again at Nifty Fifty's in Fishtown at 2431 Aramingo Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125.  Earlier, we had been looking at homes in the area. Realtor Dana Friedman had suggested that we go to Nifty Fifty's for burgers and shakes, and once again, Dana was right.

Nifty Fifty's ambiance was super fun and colorful.  They even say they have the WORLD’S largest soda fountain, so there are oodles of possible combinations. For a good reason, we all had the double Texas Ringer burger, which is Nifty Fifty's best-selling burger. Topped with an onion ring, bacon, cheese, and a smear of Texas petal sauce, grated horseradish, and garlic with a dash of cayenne and paprika.

We also got the smothered Philly Cheesesteak fries with Cheez Whiz and grated Parmesan cheese. Of course, we all had delicious thick milkshakes. I had a Strawberry milkshake, Kevin had a black and white milkshake, and Autumn had an exotic milkshake with mint chocolate chip and cookie dough.

Robert Mattei of Florida made his dream a reality and opened the first Nifty Fifty's in 1987. Nifty Fifty's was opened to allow customers to experience the 1950s. Think about the movie Grease. Other co-owners are Elena Ruiz of Drexel Hill, Mattei's daughter, Leo McGlynn of Swarthmore, and Brian Welsh and Joseph Donnelly of Springfield, Delaware County.
