Philadelphia, PA - Tröegs Independent Brewing is teaming up with The Nature Conservancy to safeguard Pennsylvania’s Kittatinny Ridge, a 185-mile chain of wooded Appalachian mountains that extends through Pennsylvania.
Tröegs and The Nature Conservancy Team Up
As part of the effort, Tröegs is launching a limited run pale ale named Trail Day. Profits from the beer go into the Tröegs Trail Day Fund. The fund will assist in the protection of almost 15,000 acres of interconnected lands around the ridge. The goal will be to make sure that the songbirds, hawks, eagles, bears along with plants are all protected.
Small-batch Scratch Series at Tröegs
Trail Day, was developed using the small-batch Scratch Series at Tröegs brewery. The process involves brewing with un-malted wheat produced by Pennsylvania, barley, and oats. Citra hops dominate alongside notes of passionfruit and lychee, Lotus hops create hints of orange rind and vanilla, together with El Dorado hops adding a fruit-forward yeast to pull in candied peach flavors.
