Philadelphia Removes 8,000 Signs During Illegal Sign Round-up

Philadelphia, PA - The City’s Zero Waste and Litter Cabinet announced today that more than 8,000 illegal signs collected during the City’s first Illegal Signs Round-up. 24 community groups from across the city participated in organized efforts to take down the signs in June.

Philadelphia, PA - Mayor Jim Kenney signed two bills today which replace gendered marital signifiers in the Realty Transfer Tax and Senior Citizen Low Income Special Tax Provisions. The legislation, introduced by Councilman Derek Green, will replace the terms “husband,” “wife,” “widow,” and “widower” on the forms to the non-gendered term “spouse.”
