Philadelphia, PA - Butcher Bar, Brought to you by George Anni, owner of Valanni, Varga Bar, and Mercato, Butcher Bar brings a vintage style butcher shop dining experience and striking meat themed menu to Rittenhouse.
The one and half story open floor plan is equipped with a large wood-top bar, exposed galley kitchen with a wood-burning fire grill, hanging meat hooks, a butcher board displaying various meat cleavers, and an intimate dining area which leads to an urban style outdoor courtyard.
Chef’s Evan Turney and John Strain offer many original dishes including “Mother Approved” meatballs, house-made sausages, sour cream & onion fried chicken, smoked wild board ribs, and LaFrieda bone in ribeye. The menu also lists cheese boards, snacks, starters, and numerous al-a-cart side choices priced around $6-$8 each. If you and your friends wish for a meat lover’s dream come true, for $250, you can order “The Trough” presenting rotisserie chicken , house-made sausages, grilled skirt steak, short -ribs, house-smoked bacon, grilled pita, topped with seasoned fries on a roughly 3 foot long butcher block. The bar menu features 16 on tap craft beer selections, 6 draft wines, and several whisky based cocktails.
