Philadelphia, PA - Meat your favorite Italian dish and celebrate National Meatball Day at a local restaurant that brings Italy to your table. MidiCi authentic, hand-made meatballs are created in-house the Neapolitan way. Made with angus beef, fresh smoked mozzarella, Italian marinara sauce, parmesan, basil and house-made bread crumbs, and served with wood-fired toasted Neapolitan bread- these meatballs are right off the boat.
To celebrate Villanova’s success in this year’s NCAA Championship, MidiCi the Neapolitan Pizza Company in King of Prussia will be offering 1/2 price Margherita pizzas for any fans who show up in their Villanova gear .
Nova’ fans can get a half-price, full-sized classic Margherita pizza, handmade with Italian tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, parmesan, basil, and extra virgin olive oil, and cooked in MidiCi’s signature wood-fired ovens.
One bite into MidiCi the Neapolitan Pizza Company's juicy meatballs made my eyes grow in surprise. I could taste the simplicity of the marinara, but the ingredients are what makes this such a stand-out. All of the tomatoes are cultivated in the region of Campania, which the Mediterranean climate and rich soil have turned the tomatoes into fruits of deliciousness. I don't know how this makes the San Marzano tomatoes taste so good, but even without a lot of extra seasoning it was like the sauce walked into my mouth and took ownership of my palate. The sauce, coupled with the authentic Neapolitan meatballs brought me to lip-smacking foodie pleasure. Nick Pisano who is Part of Leadership at MidiCi's, described that he “cooked the meatballs in the sauce, infusing the flavor even more with authenticity of the Neapolitan experience.”
With all the effort this restaurant takes in order to make your experience at MidiCi's a friendly and amazing one, it is no surprise that their meatballs are equally enticing. You can order them as either an appetizer HOUSE MADE MEATBALLS WITH FRESH MOZZARELLA, or perhaps you would want to enjoy an authentic pizza night with MidiCi's delicious sauce, pepperoni, and yes...the meatballs too. THE MEATS (LE CARNI) under SPECIALTY PIZZA (PIZZA SPECIALE) are finished with parmesan, basil and extra virgin olive oil.
I can tell you personally that after tasting several creations from their menu. You and whoever you're with will feel delighted as you ingest these wood-fired baked meatballs or any of their pizzas. And if you are famished, it is perfect because the pizzas take only 90 seconds to bake due to the enormous twin golden ovens in the Heart of their restaurant, which get up to 1,000° Fahrenheit. Their crusts are perfect, soft and warm on the inside, and crisp on the bottom to hold all the delectable toppings.
What makes the crust so perfect? It is again a result of how much care MidiCi's takes to find only the best ingredients to make all of their food. Even the flour that MidiCi's uses was chosen with care; it is made by an authentic Italian family company for 3 generations, MidiCi’s Caputo 00 Flour is ideal for pizza dough for two reasons: one, it’s finely ground, and two, it has a lower gluten content than most flours. The “00” refers to the texture of the flour: Italian flours are classified by numbers according to how finely they are ground, from the roughest ground “tipo”1, to 0, and the finest 00.
Whether you're looking to celebrate National Meatball Day or just want your appetite to travel to Italy without the long transit, I would recommend taking a trip to MidiCi the Neapolitan Pizza Company located in the new King of Prussia Town Center. Or if that location is a little too far, you can go online by clicking on the link provided to see if one of their other 27 locations is closer to you. And trust me, once you taste anything on their menu, and feel the positive vibe of the atmosphere they've created, it will keep bringing you back for more!
