Philabundance is the Delaware Valley’s largest hunger relief organization, serving more than 90,000 people each week in nine counties in PA and Southern NJ. Of those served, thirty percent are children, sixteen percent are seniors, and adults served include students,Philabundance, a cornerstone of the Delaware Valley's fight against hunger, has been a beacon of hope for those facing food insecurity since its inception in 1984. With a steadfast commitment to its mission of "driving hunger from our communities today and ending hunger for good," Philabundance has emerged as the region's largest hunger relief organization.

A Network of Compassion and Support

Philabundance operates a vast network of over 350 partner agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and senior centers, strategically located throughout nine Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey counties. Through this extensive network, Philabundance distributes millions of pounds of food annually, ensuring that nutritious meals reach those who need them most.

More Than Just Food Distribution

Philabundance's impact extends far beyond food distribution. The organization actively works to reduce food waste, collaborating with grocery stores, farmers, and other partners to rescue surplus food that would otherwise go to waste. This recovered food is then distributed to those in need, maximizing resources and minimizing environmental impact.

Empowering Individuals Through Education and Skills Training

Philabundance recognizes that addressing hunger requires a multi-faceted approach. Their innovative programs, like the Philabundance Community Kitchen (PCK), go beyond providing food to empower individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to build a better future. PCK is a 16-week culinary training and life skills program that equips adults facing economic challenges with the tools to secure stable employment in the food service industry.

Community Engagement and Advocacy

Philabundance actively engages with the community, raising awareness about hunger and advocating for policies that address its root causes. They organize events, fundraisers, and educational initiatives to mobilize support and create a collective impact in the fight against hunger.

A Beacon of Hope

For over 35 years, Philabundance has been a beacon of hope for those facing hunger in the Delaware Valley. Their tireless efforts, innovative programs, and unwavering commitment to their mission have made a significant impact on the lives of countless individuals and families.

If you want to make a difference in your community, consider supporting Philabundance through volunteering, donating, or advocating for policies addressing food insecurity. Together, we can work towards a future where no one in the Delaware Valley goes hungry.
