Philadelphia, PAPhillyBite Donut Day - The Shops at Liberty Place, Philadelphia’s premier retail destination, is hosting the #1-ranked competitive eater in the world, Joey Chestnut, and fellow top competitive eaters to compete at the first-ever Hostess Donettes-eating contest, sanctioned by Major League Eating and presented by Hostess, on Friday, June 1st, at 1 p.m.


 “What a treat to participate in National Donut Day with an on-site donut eating contest. It’s sure to be an impressive site watching some of the world’s top competitive eaters chow down on iconic Hostess Donettes,” said Jill Scarlett, The Shops at Liberty Place Retail Manager.

Notably, this inaugural event celebrating National Donut Day will set a new world record for the number of Hostess Donettes eaten in six minutes.

“MLE is honored to celebrate Donut Day, and all those who love donuts, with the first-ever Hostess Donettes-eating contest,” says Major League Eating emcee Sam Barclay. “It is anticipated that as many as 150 Hostess Donettes will be consumed at this event.”

Additional eating talent will include the #2-ranked Carmen Cincotti from Newark, NJ, the #6-ranked Gideon Oji from Morrow, GA, the #8-ranked Darron Breeden from Orange, VA
