Philadelphia Arts Guide – Art Scene

Immediately after you visit The Rocky Steps, step inside of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and wander around the more than 200 exhibitions, including over 227,000 items from all around the globe. From classical paintings to street artwork, Philadelphia is a mecca for anybody in love with art and the artists.

Just after the art gallery, take a 10-minute walk around Museum Mile to check out The Barnes Foundation, home to one of the most significant and most extensive private art collections of early and post-impressionist paintings in the world. Observe work of arts by renowned painters such as Picasso, Matisse, Renoir, and numerous others.

Art in Philly is not restricted to museums. With more than 3,800 murals spread out all around the city. Street artistry is legitimately promoted via the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program. First up: back-to-back Pride celebrations, followed by Melissa Etheridge, Shania Twain and Kingdom Hearts Orchestra concerts.
