Williamsville County StoreWilliamsville Country Store, Houston, DE. While driving my UBER, I wound up in Salisbury, MD. Ironically just earlier this week, I was telling somebody that since the quarantine, I have been making mostly short rides and staying in Delaware.

But, the other day, I was in Northeast Philly and today in Salisbury, MD. Yesterday in the Northeast I felt like an out of place country mouse in the big city. Today I feel like the city slicker that can't believe the last two piles of roadkill were snakes.

I felt like dropping off my rider and turn around to go home. But, duty calls and The Williamsville Country Store has been on my list to get too for a while. So I headed towards Houston, DE, home of The Williamsville Country Store.

I drove through Milford, and who knew Milford was the place to be back in the 1800s, I guess the creek used to be navigable waters and It had several impressive, big old houses.

I finally arrived in Houston, and The Williamsville Country Store appears to be in the middle of town and shares a building with a U-Haul rental place.

They have a small sitting area and bathrooms. However, a surprisingly small menu, but they appear to sell a lot of cold cuts by the pound.

Either I wreaked of 'outsider' and/or the young woman that took my order was in no mood to put on the friendly small-town charm show; none, the less she, was accommodating.

They make two sizes of cheesesteaks, I purchased the large because it was only a few dollars more than the medium and for a giant cheesesteak with mushrooms.

I am not sure how but this was a good cheesesteak and the 'sum of the parts far-out value' of the individual pieces.

The best way to describe it would be a mini loaf of bread roll, with the right amount of meat with nothing really to write home about. Although just the right amount cheese that melted through nicely.

Let's not forget the fried onions and mushrooms were there as well, but really didn't stand out. The Tomato was also weak. But, somehow, it all came together and made for an excellent cheesesteak. All be it, a little on the mushy side, with some sweetness to it.
