A Plant & Coffee Paradise Arrives in Rittenhouse SquarePhiladelphia, PA -Get ready, Philadelphia! A lush new addition is blooming in Rittenhouse Square. The Ground, a beloved coffee shop, bubble tea haven, plant store, and gift shop, is expanding from its original Olde Kensington location to a stunning new space in the heart of Center City. This marks a thrilling chapter for long-time friends and business partners Michelle Miller and Molly Kiriacoulacos, the visionary duo behind this unique concept.

The Ground Brings Coffee, Bubble Tea, & Community

Imagine stepping into a Parisian cafe reimagined with a whimsical, plant-filled twist. The Ground Rittenhouse has been meticulously transformed into an inviting retreat. Cozy seating, a hand-painted mural of the iconic square, and carefully curated plants create a vibrant and relaxing atmosphere. It's the perfect escape from the city bustle.

Ground food

The Ground's menu is as delightful as its decor. Locally roasted coffee beans, including their new house blend, "The Botanist," provide the perfect caffeine kick. Bubble tea lovers rejoice! The expanded menu includes traditional favorites like Earl Grey and Thai tea alongside unique concoctions featuring ceremonial-grade matcha. Hungry? Indulge in fresh French pastries, savory breakfast sandwiches, or the signature Croffle – a Korean-inspired croissant-waffle delicacy.

Plants are more than just decor at The Ground; they're a way of life. Browse a stunning selection for every skill level—from petite succulents to statement-making fiddle leaf figs. Many plants are nurtured in Miller's greenhouse, adding a special touch. Need a unique gift? Discover candles, ceramics, planters, and more. Stay tuned for workshops and events designed to bring the community together.

Ground Owners

This green dream team is the heart and soul of The Ground. Michelle Miller is a powerhouse entrepreneur whose background spans public relations, event production, and even owning a famous grooming parlor across the street! Molly Kiriacoulacos, with experience in business technology consulting, brings her analytical expertise and Southern charm to the mix.

The pandemic sparked their desire to create a joyous and welcoming space. The enthusiastic reception to their first location in Olde Kensington fueled this expansion, allowing them to spread their vision to Rittenhouse Square.
