Ponte Vedra Beach, FL - The most southern of the Jacksonville Beaches, Ponte Vedra Beach attracts leisure time tourist looking for sandy beaches and, of course, golf. A small-town beach community on the Atlantic coast (22 miles southeast of the downtown Jacksonville area) is recognized as the home of the PGA Tour and The Players Championship, played at the famous TPC Sawgrass, just one of several courses and country clubs in this beach community. Then again, if you are looking to bypass the fairways, Ponte Vedra Beach also has a few museums, a wide array of shops and some of the regions best eateries.
Ponte Vedra Beach is also known for having several of the region's upscale hotels, such as Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa and The Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra Beach. Nevertheless, bear in mind that rooms fill up rather quickly during golf events in March and May as well as during the summer months.
For those wanting to just take a day trip or two to Ponte Vedra's beaches or golf courses. Relaxing on the sands is 100 % free. However, the chip shot out of the sand traps will set you back a few bucks. To learn more about Ponte Vedra Beach, see the list of what to do below.
