Philadelphia, PA - Current forecasts are calling for 1 to 3 inches of snow beginning early Thursday and tapering off early in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to below freezing throughout the day and evening. The Streets Department will have 85 pieces of equipment ready to treat the streets with over 40,000 tons of salt available.

Love Park Keepsakes Sales Halted Due to Lack of Permission

Philadelphia, PA - The city of Philadelphia attempted to sell engraved  keepsake blocks from the stone taken from the original Love Park, but were surprised to learn  they didn’t have the right to sell them. Just 250 bricks were made for this pilot launch and they will retail for $50 each. Proceeds will directly benefit Philadelphia parks and programs.

Philadelphia City Offices Closed on New Year’s Day

Philadelphia, PA - All City of Philadelphia offices will be closed and City services curtailed on Monday, January 1, in acknowledgment of New Year's Day. Waste and recyclables won't be gathered on New Year's Day. Street Commissioner Carlton Williams urges residents with typical collection on Monday, to set out their garbage on Tuesday, January 2. Trash and recycling collection will be one day behind for the rest of the week.
