Philadelphia, PA - After last week's Announcement that a Gigantic Slide would be coming to Philadelphia later this summer, Side the City has canceled the event for Philly.

The 1,000 Ft slide was scheduled to take place on Aug 6 2016 at Sedgley Drive in Fairmount Park next to the Art Museum. Lauren Hitt, a spokeswoman for the Mayor Office announced however that the city has not granted the permit for the event. Feeling that the event was not a "great partner" for the city.

Slide the City is still scheduled to host events locally in Lancaster and Scranton in August. This is the second time Slide the City has canceled on Philly, last year the event was canceled at the last minute after months of promotion. The company seams to still be working on making the event happen but as of this time the permits for the event has been denied, lets hope things will be worked out. Stay tuned for any updates.
