- This year's cheesesteak festival at the 2300 Arena, located at: 2300 S Swanson Street in South Philly. The arena was the old ECW Arena which was huge back in the 1990s. The vibe in the air was thrilling as people were very anxious to try all of the various cheesesteaks offered, with a ton of great spots to choose from, my nose led me to the Grubaholics food truck.

I arrived and found out that they had a jerk chicken cheesesteak, I am a carnivore so when I saw chicken my stomach was very disappointed, but it was love at the first bite. The Jamaican seasonings in the chicken were fantastic and like a fireworks display in your mouth. I then saw Jersey Mikes cheesesteaks, and great food memories came to mind because I remember how much I enjoyed the cheesesteak I had from them. From there I went and tried out something different and saw a cheesesteak chili from a food truck called Chilin and it was chili accompanied by a delicious slice of bread. I turned around and heard people bragging about a cheesesteak Spring roll from the Brotherly Love Truck and hustled over to try it out; this was indeed something special as the meat and cheese inside the egg roll went perfectly together.
Now starting to enjoy the different forms of cheesesteaks offered, I turned around and saw a cheesesteak dumpling from Humpty Dumplings and ran over to give it a try, and boy was I happy, this cheesesteak dumpling was a party in my mouth with a great DJ. I was starting to get full at this point when a stand called "Das Good" can in to view offering pork banh mi, and I shuffled my way over to give it a try. The pork and bread which are the two most essential ingredients in the sandwich went perfectly together, but I am getting full at this point.
When I saw two old reliables, Philips Cheesesteaks and Cavanaugh's Rittenhouse, both of which have notable cheesesteaks, as I walked over I could feel my pants expanding and the button on my shirt about to pop due to the food intake I've already had. Cavanaugh has a great cheesesteak that is roughly 5 to 6 dollars every Monday, that’s what's great about the Cheesesteak Festival. Next, I headed over to Philips, so many good things about Philips Steaks and this was the 1st time that I was able to try them.

My stomach was dragging on the floor at this point when I saw the Spicy Belly stand, and I forcibly shoved it down. At this time I am so full that I was falling asleep while standing so I went inside and started falling asleep in a chair when I heard some commotion and looked up to see a very entertaining cheesesteak eating the competition. My eyes refused to close because I was mesmerized by this great entertainment, after having loads of fun watching the cheesesteak eating contest I decided to leave for the day. I thought that the best two food items were from Jersey Mikes and the delicious cheesesteak spring roll from Brotherly Love as I pondered about how great of a day it was and can't wait until next year.
