Old-school charm & a no-frills ambiance set the mood for seafood classics & happy-hour specials for more then 100 years. But, sadly Snockey's closed Sunday. As, old friends and longtime customers packed the place one more time. They wanted one last chance to take in the atmosphere, and the shellfish, of a restaurant that many said had been part of their lives since childhood.
Located at 1020 South 2nd Street for the past 40 years, the restaurant’s closing further shuts the door on one of the last traditional oyster houses in Philly. As, third generation owners, Ken and Skip Snock now in their 60s have decided to step away from the business.
