Philadelphia, PA - Omakase by Yanaga in Philadelphia has opened its doors finally, with the chef's tasting room offering some of the higher-end items you may not see in Philadelphia. Guests will also have access to the chef. This is a Japanese sushi-sushi-maki restaurant for those unfamiliar with omakase.
The Sushi Whisperer Opens Omakase
Although Omakase by Yanaga is located in a new, larger space in the Izakaya by Yaya in Fishtown, the new venue offers an intimate dining experience. The restaurant features eight booths for small groups of diners. The meal, which lasts approximately two hours, costs $195. The experience isn't for everyone, however. Nonetheless, we were impressed by the ambiance and hoped the food would live up to the hype.
In September, Yanaga also opened an Izakaya in Fishtown and the Omakase Room is now open within the restaurant, but construction delays had delayed its opening. With so much experience behind him, the chef is an ideal choice for an omakase experience. Yanaga has given tours of some of Philadelphia's best restaurants and has captivated palates along the way. He's even been referred to as "The Sushi Whisperer."
The menu will feature both traditional and modern Japanese dishes. The izakaya will offer hot and cold plates and cooked and raw dishes. Guests are encouraged to order as many small and large plates as they want. The Yanaga culinary team will prepare the ebb and flow of the dishes. This restaurant will be a must-visit for anyone looking for a great izakaya. With so many options, it's easy to see why it's already a hit in the city.
