- The Halal Guys are coming to 3816-3836 Chestnut St in University City with a huge Grand Opening celebration on March 23 starting at 11am and here is what they are doing to celebrate!
The Halal Guys Grand Opening in University City
- 1st 100 guests will get a free platter
- Next 100 will get Buy One Get One Free platter or sandwich
- they will be giving away a 55' Flat Screen TV
- Free swag while supplies last
- Face painting, as well as balloons for kids, will be available from 11am to 5pm
- DJ Gume will be playing music from 11am to 6pm
The Halal Guys are well known for their delicious combo chicken and Gyros along with many vegetarian options. I recently visited on behalf of Phillybite Magazine and meet up with Jung Ahn, the Managing Partner of the brand-new University City location as well as their 1016 Race st in Chinatown spot. Jung informed me that this location will be a late-night spot and will be open from 11am to 2am Monday thru Thursday and 11am to 4am on Friday and Saturdays which in turn is ideal for Industry workers in addition to the College crowd living nearby,
During our conversation, Jung shared with me his fantastic story about how he would frequently go to New York to get food from the same Halal Guys food cart and take some home to Philly. It was pretty much destiny that he would be presented an opportunity to own this own Halal Guys franchise as well as introduce his favorite foods to the Philadelphia region. Initially at their Chinatown store and now to this stunning, brand new location in University City as well as future plans to open additional locations.
I've already been to their location at 1016 Race st a few times, and the entire menu is delicious in addition to everything being around 10 bucks which in turn should make it a huge success in University City with the College crowd on a budget. If you enjoy some heat in your dishes, then Halal's homemade hot sauce is not going to disappoint and should satisfy hot sauce lovers from near and far, so make sure to consider it. My favorite menu item from Halal Guys was the delicious beef and chicken which in turn is just as satisfying as a sandwich or platter, make sure to join in on the fun this Saturday, March 23rd for their Grand Opening Event!
