PHILADELPHIA PA – Highly praised Princeton restaurant and bar, Mistral Restaurant announced today the opening date of its second location at the King of Prussia Mall – Wednesday, March 1, 2017.PHILADELPHIA  PA – Highly praised Princeton restaurant and bar, Mistral Restaurant announced today the opening date of its second location at the King of Prussia Mall – Wednesday, March 1, 2017.

Highlighting globally-inspired, eclectic small plates made with locally sourced ingredients from the best purveyors in Montgomery County, Mistral aligns with the Simon Properties’ focus on bringing independent, chef-driven concepts to the mall that transform the destination into more than just a place to shop. The restaurant occupies 3,700-square feet at the entrance between Neiman Marcus and Lord & Taylor.

Food activist and culinary pioneer, Chef Scott Anderson, opened Mistral’s first location in Princeton, NJ in 2013, offering locals and passerby’s alike a stunning mix of taste, style and atmosphere. Conceptually, Mistral KOP will exude a similar ethos, boasting Michelin-quality chefs, a fast-paced shared plates service model, and fresh contemporary ingredients that produce exceptional flavors. Menu items will differ from Mistral Princeton to reflect the highest quality ingredients indicative of Montgomery County’s local butchers, farms and fisheries.

“At Mistral, we rely on the seasonality of ingredients to inspire and create our menus,” explains Executive Chef Scott Anderson. “The farms in Pennsylvania are rapidly developing with longer seasons and more availability, consequently allowing us to offer diners fresh, out-of-season flavors that they wouldn’t normally expect to see on the menu at that time of year.”

While Chef Scott will oversee all kitchen operations at both Mistral locations, Chef de Cuisine Chef Craig Polignano will spearhead the kitchen at Mistral KOP, infusing his own personal culinary style with Mistral’s signature approach to create a progressive menu of seasonally curated small plates for guests to savor and share time and again. Craig Polignano joins the Mistral team as the Executive Chef at New Jersey’s Ryland Inn, where he originally met and worked alongside Chef Anderson in 2001.
“When [Chef] Scott called me to discuss plans for a Mistral expansion, I immediately knew this was a project I wanted to be involved with,” says Chef de Cuisine Craig Polignano. “There’s always more to learn from Chef, from his intimate relationship with food to the disruptive and unapologetic, yet equally unpretentious, nature with which he runs his kitchen. It’s an honor to be working with him again.” also see.. Mistral’s King of Prussia Mall New Chef Craig Polignano

Mistral KOP features seating for 111 guests, including an 18-seat bar, and as weather permits, outdoor seating for 48. Mistral’s bar menu will highlight a full craft cocktail menu, along with a variety of beer, wine and spirits. Following Mistral KOP’s opening, Mistral will launch a special happy hour series, offering diners half price beer wine from 4:00pm-7:00pm daily, along with a special selection of discounted bar bites.

Mistral is the second restaurant concept created by Scott Anderson, who also oversees Mistral’s sister restaurant "elements" in Princeton, celebrated for its indulgent tasting menus, open kitchen concept and extraordinary service. Opinioned About Dining recently named elements #27 on a list of the Top 100 Restaurants in the U.S. Both Mistral and elements are also annually awarded in NJ Monthly’s 25 Best Restaurants in NJ list, including the most recent 2016 roundup.
