Richard Nigre Founder of Primo Hoagies Passes Away at 65

Founded in 1986, Primo Hoagies has opened more than 100 locations across the United States. Richard "Richie" Nigre was one of the founding partners of Primo Hoagies. A self-proclaimed "primo," Nigre's philosophy was to make a great sandwich, and he did.

The South Philadelphia Original, Primo Hoagies, expanded to more than 100 locations across seven states. The sandwich chain is known for its authentic Italian ingredients and gourmet meats.

The sandwiches are so popular that customers line up for lunch and place unrelenting catering requests. As a result, Primo Hoagies continues to expand through franchising.
