Iron Chef Jose Garces Heads to DC with Buena Onda

Buena Onda is inspired by the spirit and good vibes of Mexico's Baja Peninsula. The launch in DC will feature six varieties of tacos, including Chef's environmentally conscious signature seafood tacos. Other offerings include Buena bowls, guacamole, chips and salsa, rice and beans, and other staples.

DC's Buena Onda ghost kitchen is the first to roll out as part of a national expansion, following the brand's success as a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Philadelphia, PA. Garces teams up with award-winning DC food service and hospitality company SuperFd and Executive Chef/Owner Robert Wood for the launch.

For Chef and Garces group, the new Buena Onda virtual restaurant represents the fourth ghost kitchen concept, following Garces Trading Company, Livy's Plant-Based Love, and Rustica, all currently operating successfully in the greater Philadelphia region. For Garces, delivery-only concepts remain a critical component to the future of the restaurant industry.

After Buena Onda launches in DC as a virtual restaurant, Garces will expand with ghost kitchens coming to Florida, New York, and Massachusetts. Garces is exploring brick and mortar locations for Buena Onda in DC and additional locations back in Philadelphia.
