Philadelphia, PA - Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin' have put together two fan faves to create a brand new menu item– the Affogato. Affogato is a classic sweet treat with Italian roots, featuring a shot of espresso poured on top of vanilla ice cream.

This new menu item is offered only at the brands' combination stores across the country, boasting Dunkin's bold, smooth espresso along with a scoop of Baskin-Robbins' Vanilla ice cream, resulting in a rich, perfect mid-day pick-me-up. The Italian term affogato translates to "drowned," which is exactly how its made: hot espresso is literally poured over a cold scoop of ice cream, "drowning" it into a sweet, drinkable treat.
"We want to celebrate two Dunkin' classics: Baskin-Robbins' Vanilla Ice Cream and Dunkin's new espresso," said Tony Weisman, Dunkin' Chief Marketing Officer. "By adding the Affogato to our menu customers can sample, a two-ingredient dish that truly lets the ingredients shine."
Although the Affogato is usually served up by using vanilla ice cream, guests will be encouraged to create their own drink flavors by picking ice cream from Baskin-Robbins' in-store flavors. The Affogato is readily available at select Dunkin' and Baskin-Robbins combination stores across the country for the retail price of $3.49.
