Philadelphia, PA
- The first thing that you notice when you walk into the new Makhani restaurant at 7 N 3rd st in Old City is the incredibly beautiful hand painted walls that give the elegant dining room an extremely upscale feel. I kept staring in amazement at the fact that these walls were painted by hand because the beauty is mind-blowing.
Makhani Modern Indian's Grand Opening
Makhani is an adjective denoting an Indian dish cooked in a creamy sauce made with butter or ghee, onions, tomatoes and cream, and the origin is Hindi makhani, from makkhan "butter", their menu is vast and includes just about everything, including, several types of naan bread, Tikka Masala, Tandoori shrimp, samosas, goat curry and of course chicken, lamb or shrimp Makhani.
I was very impressed with the assortment found on the menu, and the taste did not disappoint. I loved the appetizers which included the most delicious Tandoori chicken wings grilled in their clay oven and the main dish which included the absolute most delicious Briyani.
I highly encourage you to come to Makhani because the beautiful decor and especially the food will exceed your highest expectations, more information can be found by going to their website http://www.eatmakhani.com or call them at 267-534-5097
