South Philly, Philadelphia, PA - Brought to you by the same family as the historic Ralph’s Italian restaurant in South Philly, Bar One is a warm, energetic, and fun Italian style bar restaurant located at 767 S. Ninth Street. Directly across from the original Ralph’s location,
Ryan Rubino and Chef Anthony Barone present an exciting menu with updated versions of classic Italian dishes, small plates, and brunch. Bar One even offers a little trip down memory lane for the late 20’s early 30’s crowd with an adult version of a Flintstone Push Pop using real sherbet. While everything on the menu is fantastic, a few noteworthy and must try dishes include the tiramisu french toast -available on the brunch menu, couscous salad, pappardelle pasta with short rib, arugula, pecorino, and romano cheese, and mini buffalo chicken eggrolls.
The space, which was once home to many different restaurants over the years and most recently The Wishing Well, has been completely renovated into a stylish, yet causal bar with a great music playlist featuring hit songs from several different eras. Music can be a pivotal piece in crafting the ultimate spot where people want to hang out, which is why Rubino wanted to create a place with music he would enjoy listening to while having a few drinks with friends.
In addition to a relaxed and friendly environment, great food, and creative cocktails, Bar One aims to give back to the community. Many of the pictures displayed throughout the restaurant are for sale with 100 percent of proceeds going to the Art Programs in Philadelphia.
Bar One is hosting two events in honor of their Grand Opening Weekend. Friday, October 21st join them for Happy Hour 6-8pm with free passed appetizers and Saturday, October 22nd for a complimentary brunch from 11am-230pm. If you plan on stopping by for Saturday Brunch, reservations are required as it is expected to sell out.
