Neighboring the art museums new Stir Restaurant is a brand-new cafeteria, quite a bit larger than The Art Museum’s former cafeteria, the new space will seat up to 160 visitors.

The Café stretches the entire width of the building, with views overlooking the East Terrace as well as the back garden and a view of the Schuylkill River towards West Philadelphia on the other side. The cafeteria will feature stations for specialty sandwiches, in-season salads, brick oven pizzas, and coffee, providing visitors with convenience and casual dining services featuring a wide range of options.

Yet another feature to expect, is the opening of the North Entrance at street level in beginning of 2019, which will feature a new espresso bar inside the Vaulted Walkway which will be accessible to the general public once more, for the first time ever since the 1970s. Here guests will be able to sip coffee and taste home-made pastries, sit back, and relax all the while finding an astonishing perspective of the building’s monumental façades thru the skylights above.
