PhillyBite Dilworth Plaze FebPhiladelphia, PA - Dilworth Park features popular winter attractions including the Rothman Institute Ice Rink and Rothman Institute Cabin, America’s Garden Capital Maze, that offer family fun well past the holidays. In 2018, drop by the park to enjoy parties, crafting and outdoor fun. Winter in Dilworth Park is presented by Rothman Institute, Independence Blue Cross, Temple University, Capital One, Live Nation and 6abc.


Enjoy savory food specials from Brûlée Catering. Guests 21 and older, can enjoy cold beer including Stella Artois and Victory Brewing Company Ales on tap. Warm up at the fire pits with hot cocoa and seasonal cocktails featuring Effen Vodka, Hornitos Tequila and DeKuyper Cordials. As the official rideshare partner of the Rothman Cabin, Lyft is offering attendees $10 off their first ride using the code CCDWINTER.

Weekly programs in the cabin and rink include:

Tuesdays: Game Nights, 6 - 8 p.m., Jan. 2 – Feb. 20
Wednesdays: Skater-cise, 6 p.m., Jan. 3 – Feb. 21, weekly workouts for experienced skaters led by professional trainers on the ice rink, with tips from the experts from the Rothman Institute, you’ll burn calories while having fun outside.
Wednesdays: Cocktails and Cold Ones, 5 – 7 p.m., through Feb. 21, with drink specials including $6 Effen Vodka cocktails, $5 wine and $4 Bud Light draft beers, along with specially-priced food items from the Air Grille.
Thursdays: College Nights, 5 - 9 p.m., through Feb. 22, $2 admission to the rink with valid college student ID. (Skate rental not included.)
Fridays: Karaoke Nights 6 - 9 p.m., Jan. 5 – Feb. 23,

Special events at the rink:



Friday, Jan. 19, 6 - 10 p.m., Silent Philly, Put on headphones and select your own skating music by choosing from three different live DJs, who are all competing for your attention.

Saturday, Jan. 20, 2 - 4 p.m., Princess and Pirate Skate, presented by 101.1 More FM is fun for the whole family and includes make-and-take crafts and complimentary face painting for children. The team from Capital One will have some fun games and free prizes.

Tuesday, Jan. 23, 6 - 9 p.m., Skate.Pride.Love, in partnership with the Philadelphia Gay News, celebrates universal love for everyone. Enjoy entertainment from Brittany Lynn of Philly Drag Mafia and DJ Carl Michaels, plus drink specials and specially-priced menu items.

Friday, Jan. 26, 7 – 10 p.m., Zombie Skate will thrill and chill with Eastern State Penitentiary’s Terror Behind the Walls zombies lurking around the rink. Come dressed as a zombie and be entered to win a prize. There will be Victory Brewing Hop Devil specials inside the Cabin and a team from Capital One has prizes for costumed attendees.



Monday – Thursday, Feb. 1 – 22, Free in February is a program presented by Capital One. Stop by the Capital One Café at 135 S. 17th Street to receive a free admission ticket to the Rothman Ice Rink. (Offer not valid on Feb. 14 or Feb. 19. Skate rental not included in discount.)

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 4 - 8 p.m., Sweetheart Skate, enjoy 2-for-1 rink admission for the rink in honor of Valentine’s Day. (Skate rental not included.) Afterward, warm up in the Rothman Cabin with cozy cocktails featuring DeKuyper Cordials flavors.

During your visit to Dilworth Park, don’t miss America’s Garden Capital Maze, a holiday-inspired garden on the Albert M. Greenfield Lawn created in partnership with Greater Philadelphia Gardens and supported by Temple University Ambler. Walk through a picture-perfect scene of holiday topiaries, twinkling lights, and seasonal plants that showcase more than 30 public gardens, arboreta, and historic landscapes located within 30 miles of Philadelphia, giving Philadelphia the distinction of America's Garden Capital.

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society is hosting a variety of gardening workshops in the Rothman Cabin, followed by “Ask the Expert” sessions in the maze after each workshop with representatives from the Ambler Arboretum of Temple University. All programs are free, but registration is required at phsonline.org/wintergarden.

  • Terrarium How-To: Jan. 9, 5:30–6:30 p.m. (adults); Jan. 13, 10–11 a.m. (family)
  • Create a Succulent Dish Garden: Jan. 23, 5:30–6:30 p.m. (adults)
  • Seed Starting: Jan. 27, 10–11 a.m. (family); Feb. 6, 5:30–6:30 p.m. (adults)
  • Valentine Flowers to Wear: Feb. 10, 10–11 a.m. (family); Feb. 13, 5:30–6:30 p.m. (adults)
  • Garden Snow Globe: Feb. 24, 10 – 11 a.m. (family)


Dilworth Park has convenient access to SEPTA’s Broad Street, Market-Frankford and Trolley Lines. Bus routes stop at City Hall/Dilworth Park and Regional Rail is just steps away.
