Inspired by Seattle Coffeehouses, CHCC has been serving the Chestnut Hill community for 15 years. Located on Germantown Ave., their culinary artist roasters roast the coffee in-house. Also, check out the fresh pastries sold daily and drinks handcrafted by bubbly baristas. Their cozy downstairs seating is excellent for listening to indie music and stimulating conversations. The upstairs is a quiet space that can be used to get your work done.

The name Backyard Beans describes their background perfectly, as the company was started by two coffee lovers roasting beans in their backyard. You can find their local beans at farmers' markets, their website, or the coffee shops in Lansdale and Ambler. You may even consider ordering a half-gallon jug of their signature lattes drinks.

The shop is all about supporting locals, starting with their beans from Concave Coffee Roasters in Philly. The sandwiches and pastries, such as The Kind Neighbor and The P.P.E, are made in-house and creatively named.

Before COVID-19, GEB hosted an open mic night on the second floor, bringing the community together once a month to play music, share art and read poetry.

As one of the newest coffee shops in Ambler, Wake brings a combination of coffee, beer, and smoke-house foods all in one spot. Located in a newly renovated garage, it turned into a café with handcrafted espressos and locally made pastries. Where the beans are roasted in the back of the house and packaged for sale weekly. Bacon and sausage are also smoked in-house for the beer garden, open from 5 pm-10 pm on Thursdays and Fridays. The backyard area features picnic tables and a shack where Shipbottom Brewery features beer on tap while watching the Eagles game and cans to-go.


Uncle Bobbis CoffeeUncle Bobbie's Coffee and Books

Located in the heart of Germantown, Uncle Bobbie's is advertised as a space for "cool people, dope books, and great coffee." They stay true to their name as they have only been open for three years but have maintained an incredible fan base. Uncle Bobbie's has a nationwide following with over 56 thousand followers on their Instagram page. Uncle Bobbie's offers a delicious selection of espresso and coffee beverages and a specially curated library of books, apparel, and children's games.

Open Tuesday through Sunday; Uncle Bobbie's is a great local spot with lots of community events such as beverage/book releases and book signings.
